Available Horses

Adopting a rescue horse into your family is not only giving the horse a second chance at life, but it will enrich your life greatly. The look of terror in the eyes of a horse run through the auction turns into peace when they get off the trailer at our farm and are given a chance to live and to have people to trust and love them. To give a neglected and abused horse the love, respect and companionship they deserve is one of the most rewarding experiences.

Adopting from Project Sage allows us to save another life from a cruel and painful death.

Project Sage Horse Rescue follows a set procedure to insure our horses are going to safe and loving home. When adopting a horse you need 3 references, vet, farrier and a barn visit to see your future horses living conditions. You will then be approved by the board for adoption.
Our horses can not be bred, sold or sent back to auction.

A horse is a 30 year commitment. Forever homes only.

Ollie would be best suited to an intermediate rider looking to do light riding in the ring and in the future on the trails. He is a very calm, laid back type horse. He is bomb proof and nothing bothers him. He does have an old racing injury which makes him only suitable for light riding. Come meet Oliver and fall in love with his amazing personality. He will be sure to win you over and make you want to take him home!

Sally is a wonderful horse that will need a special owner.
She has had a terrible past that includes abuse and neglect.
We do not believe she is broke to ride and will need someone with experience to handle her on the ground and teach her to trust people. Sally has made amazing progress since she arrived at the rescue and is now leading around her paddock quietly. She still needs to gain weight and learn simple things such as standing for the farrier but is a quick learner once she trusts her person. She gets along well with other horses and is a stunning horse.

Rose and Violet are mother and daughter mini donkeys. They have been together forever and we would love for them to be adopted together. They really love each other and will rest their heads on each others backs to nap. They are super easy to handle, very sweet, would be great companions or pets. They are 100% kid safe, anyone can groom them which they love! They are really lovely girls that would love a home together.
